About
Hailing from Atlanta, GA with roots that span Nigeria and London
Matilda Adu is an emerging R&B artist poised to make a significant impact on the music industry. Matilda's music resonates with the depth and emotion of her life experiences.
Matilda’s artistic foundation was built early in life when she attended Dekalb Elementary School of the Performing Arts. Immersed in an environment that nurtured creativity, she honed her skills as both a dancer and a singer. This experience laid the groundwork for her expressive artistry, shaping the performer she is today.
Before stepping into the spotlight as a singer, Matilda made her mark in the world of dance. As a choreographer, she developed a unique class in Atlanta known as "The Art of Seduction." This sexy heels class was more than just a dance lesson; it was a transformative experience aimed at boosting the confidence of adult women of all ethnicities and sizes. With a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Matilda understood the importance of self-love and body positivity. Her class became a sanctuary where women could release their insecurities, embrace their femininity, and feel empowered.
Matilda’s transition into music was a natural progression of her desire to heal and inspire. Often compared to the legendary Sade Adu, Matilda shares not just a bloodline but also a deep, soulful connection to music that transcends genres. Her lower vocal register sets her apart, adding a unique dimension to her R&B sound, which she blends seamlessly with Afrobeat influences, paying homage to her heritage.
In a world where music is often just entertainment, Matilda Adu stands out as an artist with a mission—to heal, inspire, and empower through the power of music.

About the music
My Single Days Are Over is the debut EP from Atlanta-based R&B artist Matilda Adu, a soul-stirring storyteller whose music blends sensuality, vulnerability, and self-awareness into a journey of modern love. Following her breakout single Breadcrumbs—a song about recognizing your worth after being strung along—Matilda’s debut project moves beyond heartbreak and into the beautiful terrain of real love.
The five-track EP begins with “No Words,” a soft, heartfelt introduction that captures the peace of finding a love so genuine it can’t be explained—only felt. From there, “Fast Enough” bursts in with playful urgency, a feel-good anthem about counting down the hours until she’s back in her man’s arms. It’s currently one of the project’s top-performing songs and a fan favorite during live shows, especially when Matilda performs it alongside her dancers, transforming each performance into a full visual experience.
The sensuality deepens with “All Night,” featuring Prynce Rose—a slow-burning ode to intimacy and connection that celebrates passion between partners. Then comes “Love Bombing,” the project’s emotional turning point. It’s the only moment that dives into the darker side of love, exposing manipulation disguised as affection, a reminder that not everything that glitters is gold.
Finally, the EP closes with “Attraction,” the heart of the project and one of Matilda’s most streamed songs. It’s about that instant spark—seeing someone and knowing they’re meant to be in your life. It’s both a beginning and a reflection, the point where self-love meets divine timing.
With My Single Days Are Over, Matilda Adu captures the full emotional range of love—from anticipation and desire to connection and trust. The message is clear: dating can be messy, especially in a city like Atlanta, but when you love and focus on yourself, you attract the right person effortlessly.
Her sound—sultry, grounded, and reminiscent of her legendary bloodline connection to Sade Adu—cements Matilda as a refreshing new voice in R&B. Through her music, movement, and message, she invites listeners to heal, feel, and believe in love again.
✨ Healing through music, mindfulness, and movement.
