Hailing from Atlanta with roots in Nigeria and London, Matilda Adu is an R&B and Afrobeat artist, dancer, choreographer, and storyteller. Her artistry lives at the intersection of sensuality, vulnerability, confidence, and healing—creating music that encourages women to embrace every part of who they are.
Matilda’s foundation in the performing arts began at DeKalb Elementary School of the Performing Arts, where she developed her gifts as both a singer and dancer. Before fully stepping into music, she made her mark in Atlanta through “The Art of Seduction,” a heels class designed to help women release insecurity, reconnect with their femininity, and move with confidence.
With a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Matilda brings an uncommon emotional depth to her work. Her music is honest, intentional, and grounded in the belief that vulnerability can be powerful. Her rich lower register, soulful delivery, and Afrobeat influences create a sound that is distinctly her own while honoring her Nigerian heritage.
For Matilda, music and movement serve the same purpose: helping women feel seen, empowered, and completely at home within themselves.

Matilda Adu creates music for women who are learning to choose themselves, trust their desires, and move through the world with confidence. Blending sensual R&B, Afrobeat rhythms, and emotionally honest storytelling, her catalog explores heartbreak, intimacy, self-worth, love, and feminine power.
Her debut single, “Breadcrumbs,” introduced listeners to an artist unafraid to walk away from inconsistency and demand the love she deserves. Her debut EP, My Single Days Are Over, expanded that story through five songs capturing the emotional journey from self-discovery and attraction to vulnerability, passion, and genuine connection.
Her latest release, “Obinrin”—the Yoruba word for “woman”—marks a bold new chapter. The Afrobeat-driven anthem is an unapologetic declaration of confidence: “I’m that girl.” Created for women who know their worth—and those still learning to recognize it—the song celebrates individuality, feminine energy, and the freedom of refusing to shrink for anyone.
